APRA sets the line for life insurers

APRA has confirmed that life insurers will have to maintain minimum capital requirements of $10 million. The only alteration to the draft standard is to the issue of a separate minimum capital standard to harmonise capital requirements for life insurers and friendly societies.

A new reporting procedure will also be put in place to help the reporting and monitoring of a life company’s compliance with the new standards.
