APRA appoints insurance unit leader
Jane O’Doherty has been appointed to lead a new team bringing together the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority’s (APRA) governance, operational and insurance risk specialists.
She is currently Deputy Head of the Financial Regulation Division at the European Central Bank, and will begin her new role on July 1.
The unit will lead APRA’s work on culture and remuneration practices in the financial system, and examine issues such IT and cyber security.
Ms O’Doherty previously worked at APRA from 2008-15.
Chairman Wayne Byres says she brings “valuable expertise, insights and experience” to the senior leadership team.
