The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority has added 17 reinsurers to its identifier list of companies to help insurers meet data-reporting requirements.

Most additions are based overseas, and a number are different divisions of reinsurers operating in the Australian market. The only locally based company added to the list is Vero Insurance.

The regulator has also issued a new list of validation rules for submitted data.

It uses these rules to check figures submitted by insurers. The onus to submit correct data is on insurers, which are expected to correct any errors identified through the validation rules.
