AFSL help for Victorian brokers

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has announced it will provide free “one-on-one” consultations for insurance brokers planning to obtain an Australian financial services licence (AFSL). But there’s a catch – you have to be in Victoria to be eligible.

An ASIC spokesman told Sunrise Exchange News the AFSL consultations began in South Australia, but there are no plans to take the program to NSW or other states as yet.

It’s a case of first in best dressed for Melbourne brokers and others in selected regional areas, and appointments will run between June 10 and July 11.

So if you’re a broker from anywhere else, call a colleague in Victoria and give him or her the questions you need answered.
