AFCA boosts parental leave program

The Australian Financial Complaints Authority has expanded its parental leave program for employees to 20 weeks under changes to its workplace policies.

The shake-up provides an additional two weeks of parental leave and paid superannuation on leave for up to 12 months. The financial ombudsman has also increased its pregnancy loss leave from 18 weeks to 20 for staff who lose a child after 20 weeks of pregnancy.

“This comprehensive update underscores AFCA’s commitment to supporting our employees through all stages of family life,” people and culture EGM Mathew Paine told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

“As part of this we are committed to creating a family-friendly workplace where every employee feels valued and supported.”
