Watchdog neutered by disinterested audience
Watchdog, the television consumer show launched last month by Channel 9 with much fanfare, has been hauled off the air. The low-rating show, which included insurance in its stated targets, only lasted four weeks. It was an ignominious ending for the successor to the ABC’s The Investigators, which folded in similar fashion in the mid-90s when viewers became disenchanted with the stridency of presenters’ attitudes.
