UAC line-up the same, but some changes ahead

The Underwriting Agencies Council (UAC) has re-elected its entire board at its AGM in Sydney on Friday and has also made some “interesting” changes relating to its membership criteria, according to Chairman Bob Lee.

Mr Lee told Sunrise Exchange News this morning that a resolution was put to members to allow UAC directors to consider changes to the council’s membership process. The resolution was approved.

“At the moment UAC directors have the discretion to decide who becomes a member and who doesn’t,” he said. “What we want to do is lift the bar of professionalism for members and make the system more transparent.”

The re-elected UAC board members are: Mr Lee of Dexta, Martin McAvenna of Shield Underwriting Agencies, Peter Nash of Sportscover, Paul Lynam of SRS, Murray Rogash of CEMAC, David Porter of AFA Insurance and Chris Harnett of Australis.
