For those of you dealing in vehicle repair work and anyone else interested in the minutiae of road accidents, debt collection company Prushka – it handles third-party claims for the major insurers – has collated information on 18,000 accidents around Australia in the past two years. So here is the top six categories of road accidents:

Rear-enders 35%; failure to give way 27%; reversing when unsafe to do so 12%; hitting parked vehicles 11%; unsafe lane-changing 11%; and parking or exiting driveways 4%.
