The Insurance Council of Australia says Suncorp CEO Steve Johnston has joined the board while Hollard Holdings Australia MD Richard Enthoven has become Deputy President.

Tim Plant, who was previously Deputy President, has stepped down after resigning from Zurich Financial Services Australia and recently joining IAG, with his board vacancy to be filled at the December meeting.

Suncorp CEO Insurance Product & Portfolio Lisa Harrison has also stepped down from the board and will become Chairman of ICA’s new Strategy Committee, while Frank Costigan recently left after ending a period as QBE Interim Australia MD.

“We welcome Steve Johnston to the board of the ICA and look forward to drawing on his broad knowledge of the general insurance industry as well as public policy experience in Australia,” President Sue Houghton said.

“The board would like to thank Frank Costigan, Tim Plant and Lisa Harrison for their strong contributions to the work of the board and look forward to Lisa’s ongoing leadership of the Strategy Committee.”
