Steadfast attracts record numbers
Broker cluster group Steadfast is claiming the biggest conference attendance in the Australian general insurance industry for its convention in Perth, which began on Saturday and finishes tomorrow.
Convention Chairman Greg Stewart says this year’s convention has attracted 1611 delegates, with industry professionals still registering yesterday. Around 90 exhibitors have also set up 149 stands in the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre.
Mr Stewart says the record number is gratifying, particularly when it’s considered Steadfast held its annual event in Perth just four years ago.
“It’s not just about the location,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au. “People are coming here to network and to learn.”
He says he’s confident the Steadfast convention will continue to grow in numbers. “There’s room for growth as the industry continues to expand and Steadfast grows with it.”
Speakers at the convention this morning include Wesfarmers CEO Richard Goyder and former Federal Treasurer Peter Costello.
The group has more than 280 members operating from about 400 offices across Australia. It generates more than $2.5 billion in annual gross written premium.
