Sports Underwriting Australia launches footy tipping comp
Sports Underwriting Australia is offering armchair AFL punters a $10,000 prize kitty in its new footy tipping competition.
The underwriting agency’s MD, Steve Gilbert, says the response so far has been overwhelming and stretches “way into rugby league territory”.
Although the agency is accepting entries up until round five, it pays to enter before the first bounce of the season on March 20, as latecomers will only receive the equivalent of the lowest scores for the weeks they miss.
The competition is open to anyone associated with the industry.
Five state prizes of $1000 travel vouchers are up for grabs, with second and third place-getters netting $250 and $100 vouchers respectively. The overall winner will receive an extra $2000 in travel vouchers.
The $50 vouchers on offer to weekly winners (rising to $200 for the final round), will ensure no tactical tanking towards the end of what promises to be a gripping season.
