Overall satisfaction with household insurers declined slightly last year from an 80.4% rating to 79.8%, according to the latest Roy Morgan research.

RAA SA Insurance had the highest rating of the 16 largest household insurers, at 90%.

RACWA Insurance was second with 87.5% of its customers satisfied, and APIA was third at 87%.

The biggest improvers were Westpac (up two percentage points), GIO (up 1.9), Youi (up 1.2) and CGU (up 1.1).
