Land Transport New Zealand and the Accident Compensation Corporation have collaborated on a resource to help NZ businesses educate employees on safe driving.

Road accidents are estimated to cost NZ employers - and/or their insurers - $NZ250 million ($211 million).

Land Transport NZ CEO Wayne Donnelly says companies can benefit financially from following the "Your Safe Driving Policy" guide.

"Adopting a safe driving policy is a simple and effective way for companies to reduce the risk of crashes, lower their spending on fuel through better travel planning and safer, more efficient driving, and improve their bottom line."
