Risk management: DNV joins Qest
The risk consultancy business is getting more competitive, with Melbourne-based risk management group Qest Consulting acquiring the Australian and NZ operations of Det Norske Veritas (DNV), one of the world’s top risk management companies. The acquisition will make Qest one of the largest risk consultancies in Australia and give it access to DNV’s network of 300 offices in 100 countries.
Qest chairman Tony Pooley says the combined strength of the two companies will help clinch high-profile events like the Australian Tennis Open and the upcoming Commonwealth Games. It already does the risk assessments for the Australian Formula 1 and motorcycle grands prix.
