Reef trip winners selected
Adelaide broker Carol Caldwell and Sydney broker Eric Lowenstein have been named as the winners of the Catlin/Insurance News trip to the Great Barrier Reef.
They will join the Catlin Seaview Survey on the Great Barrier Reef later this month, visiting a dive site to learn more about the project, as well as snorkelling on the reef and viewing it from a helicopter.
More than 600 brokers entered the competition.
The judges said Ms Caldwell, who is employed by Cranston Australia, and Mr Lowenstein, who works at Aon, “demonstrated the clearest understanding of the issues related to climate change and the challenges faced by the global insurance industry”.
The Catlin Seaview Survey began in September to study the impact of increasing sea temperatures and ocean acidification on the reef.
A full report on the winners’ visit to the reef survey will feature in the February edition of Insurance News (the magazine).
