‘Rapid change’ drives NZ insurtech space
Insurtechs in New Zealand are being tipped to grow as technology advances.
InsurTechNZ Chairman Jason Roberts says artificial intelligence-driven applications such as chat-bots and automated customer services are already part of the landscape.
“This rapid change is bringing both opportunity and challenge as the industry and government grapple with the implications of robo-advice and an almost unlimited array of insurance possibilities,” Mr Roberts said.
InsurTechNZ is a division of FinTechNZ, and was previously known as the Insurance Working Group.
“Our overarching agenda is to support and stimulate collaboration in innovation,” Mr Roberts told insuranceNEWS.com.au. “It is this focus that aligns purpose, builds a dynamic ecosystem and generates change.
“We have a very strong focus on bringing together start-ups, disrupters and enablers across all aspects of the insurance value chain with traditional incumbents, regulators and funders.”
