QBE tops Aon rankings for fifth year
QBE has again scooped the pool in the annual Aon Australasian Risk Management Benchmarking Survey, topping the list as the most respected insurer overall for the fifth consecutive year.
The survey of Australian and New Zealand managers from 446 organisations puts QBE in an unassailable position, having also been placed first in the “less than $100 million” revenue band for the fifth consecutive year, and first in the “$100 million to $1 billion” band for the third consecutive year.
Only Zurich stood in the way of a clean sweep by QBE, taking top spot in the “over $1 billion” band and forcing QBE into second place.
Zurich also moved up two places in the “most respected” ranking to take second place – a result that prompted Zurich CEO Shane Doyle to claim “a clear vindication of our global strategy of leveraging off a global platform for local success”.
The company also rose five places to fourth in the “less than $100 million” income band, and four places to fourth in the “$100 million to $1 billion” band.
The biggest dip in the rankings was suffered by Lloyd’s, which fell from first in the 2009/10 over $1 billion list to eighth.
