Plan for Christchurch infrastructure rebuild

The New Zealand Government and Christchurch City Council have released a five-year schedule to rebuild the city’s earthquake-damage roads and underground services.

The plan has indicative timeframes and maps of work to be done.

Mayor Bob Parker says $NZ73 million ($57 million) of repairs have been completed, including rebuilding 39km of waste-water pipes and laying 92,000 metres of road.

The plan will be reviewed quarterly.
