Peter Nash elected to lead UAC

Peter Nash, the MD of leading sports insurance underwriter Sportscover, has been appointed as the new chairman of the Underwriting Agencies Council. A strong advocate for the industry over public liability issues, Mr Nash said it is important for UAC and other industry bodies to be involved in the debate over rising liability premiums.

“In the environment of changing regulation, the UAC will act as a direct voice to government to ensure all underwriting agencies are represented and the underwriting business remains sustainable,” Mr Nash said.

Other appointments include Tony Thrift of Global Underwriting Services as treasurer and Chris Harnett of InterPacific Underwriting Agencies as secretary. Directors include Roy Ellis, Greg Bunt, Murray Rogash and Rod Garnett. Paul Lynam has been elected an associate director.
