Relax: the Insurance Council isn’t handing out money to political parties, and especially to the Democrats, thank you. Our report last week on political donations included the fact that ICA was on the register for giving $2200 to the Australian Democrats. That was hardly a donation, Corporate Affairs Executive Manager Rod Frail said yesterday. It was in fact ICA’s payment for a senior manager to attend the Democrats’ annual conference. No one knows how the non-donation got on the list – or why.
