North Queensland comparator to go live
The comparison website for home and contents insurance in north Queensland will begin operating this week, Assistant Treasurer Josh Frydenberg announced this morning.
The Federal Government announced the plan in last May’s budget, saying the site would go live this month, run by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.
The site will allow consumers to compare price, product features and claims-handling complaints.
The budget also allocated $12.5 million over three years for engineering assessments of strata properties, and Mr Frydenberg says this will also proceed.
CGU has funded its own strata assessment program of 335 properties and says this has enabled it to cut premiums to more than 7000 unit-owners.
