NIBA Sundowners kicks off
The annual National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA Sundowners program – launched last year to take the association’s message to major centres across Australia – kicked off in Perth last night. Designed to get brokers together to network and discuss major industry issues, the program will continue in Adelaide tomorrow.
It’s a tough schedule for NIBA President Steve Ball and CEO Noel Pettersen, who will criss-cross the country over the next seven weeks visiting more than a dozen cities to speak to brokers about major industry issues and announce major changes to its members’ PI scheme.
Mr Pettersen told Sunrise Exchange News some of the topics up for discussion include broker remuneration, regulatory issues, the new code of practice, how to maximise the market and how brokers can grow their business.
“This is a good opportunity for brokers to ensure they understand and are up to date with pressing issues during a time of great challenge for the insurance industry,” Mr Pettersen said. “It’s also a good opportunity for NIBA to research the needs of our members.”
