NFITAB’S training standards endorsed
After several false starts and quite a lot of sniping, the National Finance Industry Training Advisory Body has had its General Insurance Standards endorsed. The new standards, which involved experts from many industry sectors, come at a fitting time with the Financial Services Reform Bill still set for implementation on October 1.
Several units have been deleted and some added or merged. The package now has 22 units covering all essential general insurance functions. Most importantly, it has four new qualification pathways, linking the package into professional accreditation which the FSRB demands.
A NFITAB statement said a review of the standards in May was “the outcome of many years of dedication to developing standards that represent the needs of the industry”.
