New CEO for actuaries
The Institute of Actuaries of Australia (IAA) has announced the appointment of John Maroney as CEO.
Mr Maroney – a former CEO of the Life, Investment and Superannuation Association (the forerunner of IFSA, the Investments and Financial Services Association) – has vast actuarial and management experience.
Institute President Martin Stevenson says Mr Maroney brings to the role “business management, people management and financial management skills, leadership abilities and experience in dealing with people at a high level in industry and government”.
Mr Maroney replaces Catherine Baldwin, who stepped down in March to become CEO of the Committee for the Economic Development of Australia.
He will take up the role at the end of July.
