Marsh representative Mike Hutchinson has resigned from the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) board following the company’s acquisition of JLT.

The NIBA constitution restricts board membership to a single representative of any principal broker member. Gary Oakley will continue as representative of the combined Marsh-JLT business.

NIBA President Eric Harris said Mr Hutchinson’s “experience and knowledge developed through his years of servicing clients, and as a senior leader in our profession, has allowed him to provide fantastic insight into many of the issues we have discussed”.

The Marsh-JLT acquisition was completed last month.
