Kiwi job losses coming: IAG

IAG New Zealand intends to lay off up to 100 of its 2200 staff in the name of productivity improvements.

The company held meetings with 2200 staff across four sites last week to inform them of pending job losses as it moves to cut overheads in the competitive local market.

News reports say up to 100 staff face the axe, but IAG spokesman Jane Legge says no decisions have been made.

Ms Legge says staff will not be offered voluntary redundancies. All areas of IAG's operations are being examined to see where efficiencies can be gained.

Later this week IAG will announce more details on job losses.
