Well-known insurance law specialist Nick Meagher, who died last week, was farewelled yesterday by a large contingent of industry and legal figures in Sydney. Mr Meagher, National Chairman of law firm Sparke Helmore and until recently President of the Law Society of NSW, was regarded as an authority on insurance law. His experience stood him in good stead when he was led the drive to redesign the society’s LawCover subsidiary – NSW’s only PI insurer for solicitors – following the collapse of underwriter HIH.
