Insurance Council monitors NSW floods
The Insurance Council of Australia says it is monitoring last week’s flooding along the NSW coast, but so far there has not been a large number of claims.
The council has not declared the events as an insurance catastrophe.
About 3350 people have been affected by evacuation orders and 16,000 were isolated. Flooding has affected the state’s north and mid-north coast and the Hunter coast, with the State Emergency Service declaring the Clarence, Bellingen, Kempsey and Upper Hunter regions natural disaster areas.
