Insight conference registrations flow in

This year’s Insight Insurance Brokers Association annual conference is being well supported in the face of sober economic times.

The May 15-17 conference will be held at Lovedale in NSW’s Hunter Valley. It has attracted registrations from 150 members and 80 industry representatives, in line with last year’s attendance.

Executive Officer Bill Friend says having the event outside Victoria reflects the broadened membership base of the former Regional Insurance Brokers Association.

He says choice of location and the theme “Insight brokers – an excellent vintage” recognises the special role of members.

“Our target members are basically small to medium-sized brokers,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

Insight was founded in 1996 by a cluster of brokers from Ballarat, Victoria, as the Regional Insurance Brokers Association.

Its membership has grown from mostly Victorians carrying $75 million in gross written premium (GWP) to national members in 161 locations with more than $250 million GWP.
