Inquiry will probe brokers’ standards
The Insurance Brokers Code Compliance Committee will conduct an “own motion” inquiry into brokers’ understanding of competency and professionalism, and how these standards are achieved.
As code subscribers, brokers will be required to respond by completing an online questionnaire.
The inquiry hopes to develop a better understanding of how code subscribers define competency and professionalism, and how they ensure adequate training for their staff.
It also aims to identify and promote good business practices for competency and training of staff and representatives.
Instructions on how to submit responses to the questionnaire will be sent out to brokers at the end of this month.
