Inmate acts as Williams’ bodyguard
Meanwhile, former HIH CEO Ray Williams has been cautioned by warders at NSW’s Cessnock jail for trying to use another prisoner as his personal bodyguard.
Fairfax newspapers say 68-year-old Mr Williams attracted the attention of prison officials after being seen with a “tough, muscly inmate”. The so-called “bodyguard” is reported to have followed Mr Williams everywhere.
After interviews with both men, it emerged Mr William had “invited” the other prisoner to be his personal minder. Prison officials say Mr Williams won’t be punished – he simply hadn’t understood the rules.
