Incubator unveils insurtech scheme participants

Non-profit fintech hub Stone & Chalk has announced the seven start-ups that will take part in its inaugural Insurtech Program, which is backed by QBE.

Codafication, Knowledge Global, Perx, Riskflo, Rundl, Understando and Wordflow will address business problems identified by QBE and other partners in the program.

The six-week program aims to create new business and grow opportunities through commercial collaboration.

Tasks set by QBE include detecting claims fraud, utilising data to improve road safety, using information to reshape predictive models for actuarial reserving purposes and making the claims process more efficient.

“We are excited to be launching a bespoke accelerator for the fast-emerging insurtech space,” Stone & Chalk CEO Alex Scandurra said.

“By starting with the real industry problems of our program partners and matching them with start-ups, we believe we can significantly reduce the time to commercialisation for start-ups while providing our corporate partners with access to leading-edge innovation that can be implemented immediately.”
