ICA to hold forum for WA bushfire victims
The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) will hold a forum for policyholders affected by the recent bushfire in WA’s southwest.
The event will take place in Harvey on February 24 from 5.30. Registration is essential, and can be made by calling ICA’s disaster hotline on 1800 734 621.
It will be attended by ICA, insurance company representatives and claims staff, local and state government representatives, the Financial Ombudsman Service and Legal Aid WA.
ICA CEO Rob Whelan says the meeting will let the hundreds of policyholders who suffered losses hear first-hand how the recovery process is progressing.
“The forum will cover key aspects of the recovery process, including claims-handling and assessments, site clean-up, rebuilding and dispute resolution,” he said.
Insurance experts will be on hand to answer questions and speak one-on-one to policyholders.
