The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) met a group of visiting China Re executives last week.

Guy Carpenter Pacific Region CEO Andre Eisele and Senior VP Andrew Smith organised the visit.

“The Insurance Council briefed the delegation on the characteristics of Australia’s competitively underwritten general insurance market,” spokesman Campbell Fuller told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

“The meeting also covered the Australian industry’s approach to insuring property in areas affected by natural hazards such as cyclones and floods.

“The ICA frequently hosts international delegations seeking a better understanding of Australia’s general insurance market and regulatory regime.”

ICA GM Risk Karl Sullivan says the two markets face similar challenges.
