ICA holds Innisfail rebuilding show
The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) in conjunction with the Queensland Government Building and Co-ordination Centre has held a home and rebuilding show in Innisfail directed at bringing the construction, insurance and manufacturing industries together to help the region.
Residents were given opportunities to meet with industry representatives to get their needs assessed and finalise preparations before the coming cyclone season.
ICA Deputy CEO Philip Maguire (whose position became redundant yesterday) says during the past three months, the industry has been working to identify and resolve issues impacting the region’s recovery.
“One of the most pressing issues is the need to waterproof all homes before the next wet season,” he said. “This is being given priority by insurers, the Cyclone Larry Recovery Taskforce and the Building Co-ordination Centre.”
The show was another step towards recovery after Cyclone Larry and the completion of major rebuilding tasks.
