ICA heads north again to help Jasper-affected residents

The Insurance Council of Australia will host three forums in Far North Queensland next week to help communities affected by Ex-Tropical Cyclone Jasper.

It is the industry’s third round of forums since the storm hit in December, resulting in nearly 10,000 claims and up to $354 million in insured losses.

Insurance Council COO Kylie Macfarlane says the events help insurers address residents and businesses’ “ongoing challenges” as they recover from the category 2 storm.

“These in-person consultations provide an opportunity for policyholders to receive personalised assistance,” she said. “That’s why it’s important for insurers to continue to be present in the community, providing support and guidance through the claims process.”

The events are on:

  • Tuesday June 11 from 10am to 6pm at the Brothers Leagues Club Cairns
  • Wednesday June 12 from 10am to 6pm at Pullman Port Douglas Sea Temple resort
  • Thursday June 13 from 8.30am to 2pm at Mossman Shire Hall

Attendees are encouraged to book meetings in advance. Click here for booking information.
