ICA board welcomes Plant and Myler
The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) has appointed two new directors, as it responds to regulatory, political and climate challenges.
Tim Plant, CEO General Insurance at Zurich Australia, and John Myler, CEO Insurance at RACQ Insurance, were appointed last Thursday.
Mr Myler has held executive roles at Allianz and Royal & Sun Alliance, while Mr Plant is a director of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, with experience across the insurance, reinsurance and financial services.
Mr Plant was formerly group executive of insurance at icare, Australia’s largest public sector insurer. He held senior roles at QBE between 2009 and 2016.
“The board is looking forward to utilising their expertise, knowledge and perspective to help shape ICA’s response to the regulatory, political and climate change challenges facing the insurance industry,” CEO Rob Whelan said.
ICA has also welcomed new members LFI Group, PetSure, Arch LMI and Pacific International Insurance, bringing the total membership number to 54.
