David Parkin, the inspirational coach of top AFL club Carlton, will be a highlight of the IBNA convention on the Gold Coast in October. Parkin, who took Carlton to two successive premierships, will speak about of the lessons of life from sport.

The convention will run from October 3 to 6 at the Marriott resort – just down the road from Jupiters and the Hotel Conrad, where the NIBA Convention will follow on from October 6 to 9.

Other guest speakers will be Martin Grunstein, the founder of Success Communications; and Benfield Greig Chairman Ray Carless. Martin Walker will be the moderator.

IBNA CEO Paul Serong said the convention theme for this year – “moving on up” – is about “assessing what we have achieved to date and finding the drive and inspiration to exceed expectations for the future”.
