IAAA members to join ANZIIF program
The Insurance Advisers Association of Australia (IAAA) will use the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance’s Certified Insurance Professional Program through a joint venture announced last week.
ANZIIF CEO Joan Fitzpatrick said the extension of the CIP program to IAAA members means they can comply with ASIC’s major plank on intermediary training, PS146.
IAAA replaced “agents” with “advisers” last year as it widened its membership criteria in advance of the Financial Services Reform Act. CEO Murray Morgan said the agreement with ANZIIF “will allow the IAAA to focus on specific services for insurance advisers while ensuring that members’ continuing professional development is recognised”.
