Hearings put insurers in the hot seat

The Queensland Floods Commission of Inquiry has announced a second round of public hearings, which will focus on the insurance industry’s response to the disaster as well as planning issues.

The hearings will be held in Brisbane, Bundaberg, Maryborough, Gympie and Ipswich from September 19 to October 27.

The commission will also release its interim report on August 1, focusing on recommendations to be implemented before the next wet season. A final report will be provided to the Queensland Government by February 24.
