Government limits Comcare claims

The Federal Government is introducing reforms to workers’ compensation under Comcare that will limit claims.

Federal Workplace Relations Minister Kevin Andrews announced the changes, which will stop employees claiming psychological injury after performance reviews.

Under the new laws, workers cannot make claims for psychological injury resulting from “reasonable” management practices, including a reasonable performance appraisal, counselling action, suspension or other action after they were overlooked for promotion.
