Queensland’s Gold Coast is the home of many superlatives, including being the best place in Australia to get your boat stolen. According to Suncorp, the rate of boat theft is dropping everywhere except the Gold Coast, where it has risen 66%.

Suncorp boat insurance manager Terry Sills says thieves are targeting more expensive vessels, and they’re also taking high-value items like radio equipment and GPS systems.
