Gallagher exec joins NIBA board

Gallagher Head of Workplace Risk Vivienne Toll has joined the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) board.

Ms Toll, a member of the Gallagher broking executive team, was appointed at the NIBA annual general meeting in Sydney on Thursday.

“Vivienne will make a great addition to the NIBA board, especially with her strong background in workplace risk – an area where insurance brokers are playing an increasingly important role on behalf of their clients,” President Tim Wedlock said.

“I am also delighted to have Gallagher directly represented on the national board, given the important role the company now plays across the country.”

Mr Wedlock, who is Austbrokers AEI Group MD, continues as President for a second year, with Eric Harris from Aon Risk Services remaining VP.

CEO Dallas Booth says the group’s finances were in the black for the year to October 31. Two years ago NIBA reported a deficit of $591,148.

“We were pleased to produce a small surplus for the year,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au. “We have been managing the expenses of the organisation in response to our revenue challenges.”

Issues on the agenda this year include responding to the royal commission on financial services, changes to product distribution rules and other legislative reforms.

“All these things are important for NIBA to continue working on and we have strong support for what we are doing in those areas,” Mr Booth said.
