Flood inquiry hearings end after six months
The federal government’s inquiry into insurers’ handling of the 2022 floods has held its final hearing and is due to report by October 18.
Building code regulators detailed the impacts of potential construction standard changes and hydrologists were asked to explain their decision-making processes at last week’s final hearing.
The hearings started on January 31 and have featured appearances by consumer groups, regulators, insurers and affected communities.
The industry expects a range of recommendations on issues such as expert reports, complaints handling, and affordability.
