Expo moves outside Sydney CBD
The Underwriting Agencies Council and the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) have chosen a non-CBD venue for this year’s Sydney Expo on May 20.
To be held at the Stamford Hotel at North Ryde, the expo enables underwriting agents to inform brokers about their specialty products. The half-day event will be topped off with a lunch to be addressed by NIBA President Steve Ball, while Sunrise Exchange News Editor Terry McMullan will provide his own assessment of the world of insurance.
Last year’s expo was at the Sydney Town Hall, but organiser David Pearce says the North Ryde venue is easier for brokers coming from the city’s west and north to reach. “Most brokers in the Sydney area don’t work in the CBD,” he said. “At North Ryde there’s plenty of parking and it’s close to public transport. So there’s no time wasted getting to and from the office.”
