Defence Service Homes Insurance was named general insurer of the year at the Roy Morgan Research Customer Satisfaction Awards in Melbourne last week.

Some 39 awards were presented to companies for outstanding customer service in their fields, with more than 50,000 consumers and 22,000 business decision-makers passing judgement.

Real Insurance, owned by Hollard Australia, took the risk and life insurer of the year award. Elders was business insurer of the year.
