Cook Strait quake claims continue rising
New Zealand’s Earthquake Commission says it has received 6626 claims relating to the recent Cook Strait tremors.
The quake series has included 6.5-magnitude events on July 21 and August 16 that caused damage in Wellington and Seddon.
Of the claims, 4821 relate to last month and 1705 to this month, with 70% from the North Island.
