Code of practice deadline looms

The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) has received 28 submissions on its draft code of practice, with the deadline for those interested in submitting suggestions falling tomorrow.

Project Manager Heather Reid says submissions have been relevant and constructive. “They all raise some interesting comments and issues and most of them are quite supportive. We’re really pleased with the response.”

Ten submissions are available for viewing on the ICA website; the authors of the rest have requested confidentiality. The deadline for submissions is September 8.

Former Australian Securities and Investments Commission Chairman David Knott will hand down his review of the submissions at the end of October.
