Former US Vice President Al Gore has praised IAG CEO Michael Hawker’s leadership over the global warming issue.

Mr Gore’s recently released film, “An Inconvenient Truth” – a documentary based on global warming, has received a warm reception from critics. He told a book festival in Wales that most business leaders ignored the importance of climate change, but recent comments made by Mr Hawker show some are taking it into consideration.

Mr Hawker has issued a number of strong warnings about the impact of climate change, and IAG has moved to lower its exposures in some population centres susceptible to cyclone-instigated flooding.
