In last week’s issue of insuranceNEWS.com.au we quoted an Insurance Council of Australia spokesman saying the council did not have a position on the state taxation issue… “because this is a commercial issue for individual insurers”.

ICA has contacted insuranceNEWS.com.au to say the reporter asked for comment on the impact of fire services levy increases, not the council’s position on state taxation.

There is apparently a difference, and we apologise to readers for any confusion.
